anotherbof Truly a great record, it's like looking at something that continuously shifts and reveals something new at each second. It's just too short!

about

NW (North West) is the third album of Trees of Mint, a musical project by Sardinian guitarist Francesco Serra.
NW is a stripped-down composition for electric guitar and snare drums, focusing on performing practices that evoke atmospheric phenomena through the use of a reduced electroacoustic set. It is a sonic interpretation of past real-life experiences of uncontaminated places, occurring at a later time distance from them, and therefore distills all of their own physical and emotional properties.
The album consists of 5 tracks, deep and enchanting in their rich earthy evocations, shaped through balanced modulation of gestural tensions. Their sonic flow generates desolate and arduous settings, disrupted by eroded melodies and ephemeral harmonic structures, slowly expanding in the listening space until they eventually disengage and dissolve. NW condenses ideas and audio-visual suggestions gathered in the space of three years.
The sessions were recorded in December 2018, in a huge warehouse in the outskirts of Bologna. The natural acoustic properties of the location have been preserved during post production and mixing, with no manipulation or effects being applied to the original recordings.
